About us
Who we are
We are a team of volunteers who believe that through the power of community collaborations, we can improve the lives of many.
Northwest Seattle Gambian Association (NWSGA) is a state-wide, all-volunteer non-profit organization of the Gambian community in the State of Washington. NWSGA does not discriminate. It serves people of all backgrounds, however, the majority of people served by this association happen to be Gambians. Gambia and most of Africa by tradition are very community-based in their day to day lives. Most people from the continent grow up with strong adherence to community values. Those same community values are what this association believes in.
We raise funds mostly through community donations, grants, fundraising events/activities. These funds are then used in the community to help in different way, e.g purchasing school supplies for children or organizing cultural events.
